East Belfast Mission - Changing Lives

Each week East Belfast Mission helps over 1,000 people from its base at Skainos Square on the Newtownards Road. Since the move to this facility in 2012 we have helped more than 10,000 vulnerable people from the inner East Belfast area to transform their lives - people just like Natasha.

Twenty year old Natasha experienced abusive relationships and homelessness at an early age in life. East Belfast Mission’s hostel provided a safe place for Natasha, enabling her to deal with the trauma she’d experienced and to develop her confidence.

“When I hit rock bottom, the East Belfast Mission team were like a family to me. They helped me rebuild my life and gave me back my future’.

With support from her key workers, Natasha has now been able to develop new skills, move into her own home and has just got her first full-time job. Andrew Irvine, CEO of East Belfast Mission, says:

“We are so proud of each person like Natasha, who has been able to make positive life changes. By sharing her story in our campaign, we hope to inspire other people to see that change is possible.’

East Belfast Mission has been supporting vulnerable people from communities across inner East Belfast for over 200 years, bringing help and hope to people who are homeless, unemployed or struggling with their mental health.
