East Belfast Mission - Changing Lives

Each week East Belfast Mission helps over 1,000 people from its base at Skainos Square on the Newtownards Road. Since the move to this facility in 2012 we have helped more than 10,000 vulnerable people from the inner East Belfast area to transform their lives.

Our church and community groups reach over 300 people each week through a wide range of social, spiritual and support groups that offer friendship and community to local people of all ages. The groups reduce isolation and enable people to build relationships with their peers, making East Belfast Mission a place where everyone is welcome, encouraged and empowered to fulfil their potential. This is the story of how our church and community groups changed Jacqui's life.

Jacqui felt her life was falling apart whenever she lost her house and her family. East Belfast Mission provided her with a church and a community to help her back on her feet, one step at a time- helping her to get back her confidence through the support of an encouraging and loving community.

“I've been bruised and brave- now I've got my confidence back’.

Andrew Irvine, CEO of East Belfast Mission, says:

“We are so proud of each person like Jacqui, who has been able to make positive life changes. By sharing her story in our campaign, we hope to inspire other people to see that change is possible.’
