In 1990 EBM entered a joint management agreement with Oaklee Housing Association to build Hosford House, a 22-bed hostel for people who are homeless. Now a major facility for the homeless in Belfast, the Hostel is managed by a team of dedicated professionals.
While we are happy to house people in need, for the welfare of the client accommodation at Hosford House is intended to be temporary. Therefore, Hosford House provides training on independent living skills to prepare clients for self-reliance. Residents are also encouraged to use the employability services provided in Stepping Stone as another step towards independent living.
Hosford House is a key-scheme in the strategic plans of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and contributes to Northern Ireland’s social exclusion, homelessness and drug/alcohol strategies. We are a trusted and established agent in the homelessness sector providing support to the local community and province wide to people who are experiencing homelessness.
