History

This presentation will briefly outline the highlights of the history of East Belfast Mission.

 

New Minister - Rev. Jim Rea

In 1978, the Newtownards Road Methodist Church received a new minister - the Rev Jim Rea (opposite) who is originally from Irvinstown. 

Working alongside the congregation the Rev Rea began 'Evangelism Explosion' – a programme to train people who to share their faith. 
The Church reached out into the local community and identified issues of alcoholism, unemployment and debt.
