There are many ways to support the ongoing and valuable work of East Belfast Mission. Your support will help us continue to offer hope and a future to all those in need in the inner city, regardless of background or belief. Our mission is to see community transformation and renewal in East Belfast.
Our vision of the future for East Belfast is that it will become a welcoming, vibrant and peaceful community in which everyone has a sense of belonging and can fulfil their potential.
You can help us reach our goals by supporting our work in any of 5 key ways.
1. Pray
Never underestimate the power of prayer in all situations.
We would ask that you remember us daily in your prayers, and if you are someone who does pray for us, please be assured that you are greatly valued and KEEP ON PRAYING because as we develop and grow so the needs increase.
2. Give Time
We always appreciate the contribution made to our work by volunteers. We currently have over 60 dedicated volunteers who generously give time to help throughout the Mission. For example:
• Mission Café and Meals on Wheels - help the Kitchen Team prepare and serve hot nutritious meals in our Mission Café, and help clean and tidy up afterwards! Or help deliver Meals on Wheels.
• Youth and Community Work - help run our very popular Youth groups or get involved in the Women's Group. Or offering a listening ear to some of our customers through our Befriending Scheme.
• Maintenance - help to keep the Mission clean and well maintained.
• re:store charity shops - assist in our charity shops – serve customers, sort donations, move furniture or even drive the delivery van!
• Administration - help in our re:store shops, main office or on reception by answering phones, filing, data entry or helping with fundraising mail shots.
• Fundraising / Supporter Recruitment - help raise vital funds for East Belfast Mission by encouraging others to support our work through hosting a fundraising event or helping with mailing the appeal letters.
If you live locally and would like to help us by volunteering your time and expertise in any of these areas, please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Iain Jamieson, by phone 028 9045 8560 or email iain.jamieson@ebm.org.uk.
