Vacancies

Volunteer Placements

As a volunteer there are lots of things you can do within East Belfast Mission. Wherever your interest lies, you are sure to find something you will enjoy and find the experience fulfilling. If you have 2 or more hours to spare we have volunteer opportunities in a wide range of areas including:

refresh café and Meals on Wheels Programme

Helping the kitchen team serve, prepare and deliver hot nutritious meals both in our café and to those local people who find themselves housebound, as well as helping with the clearing up and tidying!

Youth and Community Work

Helping to run a variety of youth and children’s programmes that happen with several different age groups and on several different evenings throughout the week. These positions are subject to the mission receiving a clear AccessNI check prior to the commencement of the volunteer.

Facilities & Resources

Helping our Facilities & Resources team keep our premises and equipment functioning

Administration

Help in our shops, main office or on reception by answering phones, filing, data entry or helping with mail shots and appeals.

restore Charity Shops

Helping in the shop where duties would include dealing with a variety of people (staff and customers) assisting with sorting and pricing clothes, books, furniture and bric a brac and helping to keep the shop floor and display tidy as well as serving customers. The shops also need volunteers to help on the delivery vans with the collection and delivery of furniture.

recycle and refurb

Helping in the Approved Reuse Centre on the Crumlin Road Belfast, you could be part of the team who refurbish furniture and bicycles before selling them on through the restore shops.  There are a variety of tasks involved in the stripping down of bikes – carrying out safety checks, replacing parts or if you are handy with sanding down furniture, stripping suites back to their base, recovering suites, painting or sanding wood items – whatevver your skill is, we can use it!  Call EBM today to hear more.
