Throughout its history, East Belfast Mission has engaged widely with the community. However, its Community Engagement work allows EBM to provide focused, consistent support to individuals and groups in the local community. EBM's Community Engagement work takes a two-pronged approach--supporting the basic needs of the community though community development and helping the community deal with the legacy of the conflict.
The various projects of the Mission make contact with several thousand people within the local community each week, many of whom are in need of support of various kinds. The Community Engagement work of East Belfast Mission supports and deepens the work of other projects within the Mission by providing members of the local community with opportunities for engagement and connection. From running weekly groups, to visiting people in their homes, to providing a free counselling service, Community Engagement work seeks to support and empower the local community.
